PGA TOUR Latinoamérica member 2013-2014

2014: Defeated Rick Cochran III on the third hole of a sudden death playoff to win the Dominican Republic Open for his first career victory on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica. It was his first win in 22 career starts on PGA TOUR Latinoamérica. Trailing his pairing partner Cochran by six shots with seven holes to play, he made a strong comeback. Birdied the final hole and took advantage of a bogey-bogey finish by Cochran to finish in a two-way tie at 12-under 276. A par on the third playoff, the par-four 18, hole secured him the victory at Casa de Campo’s Teeth of the Dog golf course… His other top 10 of the season was a T10 finish at the 83rd Abierto OSDE del Centro in Cordoba, Argentina in April… Had a share of the lead following an opening round of 5-under 67 at the Mundo Maya Open in Mexico, but missed the cut with a second round of 82… Made the cut in 8 of 11 starts and collected three top-5s to finish the PGA TOUR Canada season ranked No. 34 on the Order of Merit. Finished T4 at the Bayview Place Island Savings Open in Victoria, British Columbia and T5 at The Syncrude Boreal Open in Ft. McMurray, Alberta and at The Great Waterway Classic in Kingston, Ontario.

2013: Finished the PGA TOUR Latinoamérica season ranked No. 30 in the Order of Merit. Had a third place finish, two top-10 finishes, four top-25 finishes and 8 cuts made in 12 starts. His best finishes were T3 at the 82nd Abierto OSDE del Centro in Cordoba, Argentina in April and T5 at the Mundo Maya Open in Merida, Mexico in May. Earned his PGA TOUR Latinoamérica card by finishing T15 at the Qualifying Tournament in Sebring, Florida in February.

2012: Through Monday qualifiers and sponsor exemptions got to play three PGA TOUR Latinoamérica events… His best PGA TOUR Latinoamérica finish was T5 at the 65th Arturo Calle Colombian Coffee Classic... He led that tournament after the second and third rounds, but surrendered the top spot with a 74 on the final round at the Club Campestre de Cali… In his only Tour start he missed the cut at the Neediest Kids Championship… Played on the NGA Golf Pro Tour.

2011: Shot a couple of 71s to miss the cut by one at the Melwood Prince George's County Open, an event in which he made his first Tour start ever… Played on the NGA Golf Pro Tour.

OTHER DETAILS: Has had his share of visits to the operating room… While in college underwent ACL surgery on his left knee in 2008 (December)… Had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip in 2011 (November).

AMATEUR CAREER: Had three runner-up finishes during his four seasons of college golf at Rice University (2006-10)… Had seven top-10 finishes during his senior year… Headlined the Conference USA All-Academic Team as a unanimous selection... Named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Third-Team... Also named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America... As a high school student he was named First-Team All-Dade County (8th and 9th grade) at Ranson Everglades HS in Coconut Grove, FL… Won the Southern Junior in Orlando at age 17.
