Second Qualifying Tournament set to start in Florida
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (February 2, 2013) – The second and final Qualifying Tournament for the 2013 season of PGA TOUR Latinoamérica will feature a field of 126 players. The qualifier will begin ten days from today at the Sun N’ Lake Golf Club’s Deer Run Golf Course in Sebring, Florida.
In addition to 81 competitors from the United States, the field includes 51 other players coming countries such as Canada (8 players), Mexico (7), Argentina (4), Colombia (3), Spain (3) and England (3).
The other nations represented by one or two players are Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ireland, Korea, Panama, Poland, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Venezuela and Wales.
This international field will battle for twenty PGA TOUR Latinoamérica spots over the 72-hole qualifier that begins on February 12. Success at the Sebring Qualifying Tournament will guarantee players a fifteen-tournament schedule with $ 150,000 purses in nine countries, beginning halfway through March.
As PGA TOUR Latinoamérica members competing throughout the season, the players will enter that race for “Los Cinco” – the Order of Merit’s Top 5 players – who will earn a spot on the 2014 Web.com Tour at the end of the year.
