Lima, Peru (October 27, 2014) .- After a thrilling finish, Francisco Bide won the Samsung Open, played at the Country Club La Planicie, in Lima, Peru, part of the calendar of the Developmental Series. The Argentine totaled 11-under par 277, score that beat his fellow countryman Daniel Vancsik, by one shot. In third place finished the Spanish Jacobo Pastor and Paraguayan Marco Ruiz.
Bide, who won his first title as a professional went out to play the final round with leading by one and quickly scored a birdie at 1 that allowed him to widen the gap.
The last four holes brought the emotions. On the par-4 15th, the winner had a two stroke lead, but after a bad shot he made bogey, while Vancsik holed for birdie to tie the lead.
"The key was 17, I hit a pretty bad shot on the par-3 and I could barely get it out of the bunker. I had a 35 ft for par and luckily I made it to save par" said the Champion, who is 27 and arrived to Peru after a Top-10 in Mexico in the last PGA TOUR Latinoamérica event.
He not only saved his par but also Vancsik took three putts and left with bogey, so Bide came to the final hole with one shot advantage. The par-5 final hole made it even more exciting . Vancsik holed a 28 ft for birdie to put all the pressure to Bide that had a 10ft to win the first tournament of his career. "Luckily it was uphill and I made it," said the winner.
