Barranquilla, Colombia (April 7, 2014) – A solid final round of 4-under par 68 in one of the windiest golf courses you’ll find in South America, led Colombia’s Álvaro Pinedo to victory at the Copa Ciudad de Barranquilla. Pinedo won by one shot over Omar Beltrán and by two over Manuel Merizalde.

The Colombian Argos Tour event was also the first event of the 2014 Developmental Series schedule played in Colombia this season. The Developmental Series provides players competing on their national Tours an opportunity to move up to the NEC Series-PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.

Pinedo entered the final day in third place, trailing Merizalde by two and Beltrán by one. The winner proved his consistent play in windy conditions by carding no rounds over par.

The five leading players from the Copa Ciudad de Barranquilla, not otherwise exempt to play the NEC Series-PGA TOUR Latinoamérica in 2015, will gain access to the Developmental Series Final Tournament to be played in Ecuador in January.
