La Romana, Dominican Republic (May 19, 2014) -. Rick Cochran III continues to show that it is one of the most complete players this season of NEC Series PGA TOUR Latinoamérica and was a star of the DR Open, as he was in four of the previous six events in 2014.
His second round of 64, 8 under par, at Teeth of the Dog was the best round of the week so the player from Kentucky took the prize that OHL gives every week. Cochran took advantage of a quiet afternoon on Friday to begin his round with birdies at 1, 3 and 4 showing his ability to make putts. His round only stumbled at the 5th hole but then he continued the streak with birdies at 6,9,10, 11, 14 and 16 to close with a round that catapulted him to the top of the tournament.
Cochran III was not the only one who carded a 64 during the tournament at Casa de Campo. Martin Trainer , who won this award in the Stella Artois Open, did it on thursday but as Cochran III finished in a better final position, the leader of the Order of Merit won the $ 1,000 check that OHL every delivers every week.
Cochran III is already the fifth consecutive U.S. that takes the OHL Round of the Week award. The seven winners so far are:
